Costs for a Divorce

We often get asked lots of questions about the cost of a divorce but the reality is that every case is different and therefore costs vary. At Michael Spoors Solicitors we offer a fixed fee for the procedural part of the divorce so you know exactly what you are paying. However, when it comes to finances costs can be dramatically different depending on a range of factors, such as complexity of assets, hidden assets, inherited wealth, post separation issues, pre marriage issues, and generally each party’s attitudes to settlement. It is impossible for us to provide a fixed fee for finances but our solicitors will provide you an estimate prior to our formal instruction so that you can make an informed decision. We also offer all prospective clients a free initial consultation which gives you the opportunity to meet with one of our solicitors to discuss the details of your matter and give you advice moving forward, including a discussion about the likely costs involved in your particular case.
